Their idea is to take photos of musicians and bands holding a Comfort Doll, have them autograph an index card, and auction both photo and card with 100% proceeds to benefit World Vision.   A Comfort Doll is a small knit doll used by ICross Canada in place of packing foam, when they send shipments of fragile HIV/Aids medicines to African Clinics. Once the meds are unpacked, the dolls are given to the local children of whom many are HIV positive. Many of the children are buried with their dolls when they pass away.   Comfort Doll Project was created in May 2006, and has had 3 auctions so far; raising a total of $306.00 to benefit the three Africa based charities we support: World Vision, ICross Canada and Save the Children (we rotate charities for each new auction)   Comfort Doll Project is not affiliated with MissionFish as only American based charities and non-profits are allowed to join. This photo is an 8x10 glossy photo, developed on real photo paper using the typical chemical process - not a laser or inkjet print. The photo of Weird Al was taken August 22nd, at the Red Robinson Show Theatre in Coquitlam BC Canada.   If you win this photo, you will also receive an index card autographed by Weird Al.
