WIZARD OF OZ 3 Autographed Photos BOLGER HALEY HAMILTON Start Price USD 24.99 Current Price USD 24.99 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Saturday, August 30, 2008 End Time Saturday, September 06, 2008 Location Ontario See more about 'WIZARD OF OZ 3 Autographed Photos BOLGER HALEY HAMILTON' Description I have been collecting "WIZARD OF OZ" movie memorabilia since 1975.  My area of specialization has been that of autographed material on the MGM classic film.  I made several trips to Hollywood, and got to be friends with the 3 principal surviving cast members:  RAY BOLGER (The Scarecrow), JACK HALEY (The Tin Man) and MARGARET HAMILTON (The Wicked Witch of the West).  I have also got to know several of the MUNCHKIN actors from the film.  They all signed a great deal of memorabilia for me throughout the years.  All of these legendary performers were very kind to specially inscribe many different poses and scenes from the movie, with which we are all very familiar.  What makes the items from my collection so unique, are the inscriptions on the photos which range from personal reflections to dialogue and references to the film.  There are quite a number of forged Oz autographs on the market...these stills were signed for me in person, and the handwriting is absolutely authentic. Here is an opportunity to own 3 reprints from my collection on photos that have become very familiar to fans, but with wonderful personal sentiments from the actors: a scene with Jack Haley, Ray Bolger and Judy Garland in the forest, just before they meet the Cowardy Lion...this photo has been signed by both Jack Haley "Tin Man" and Ray Bolger The Scarecrow who add their characters' names. Ray Bolger has written the infamous line - "Lions and Tigers and Bears!  Oh My!" a scene with Ray Bolger, Margaret Hamilton and Judy Garland on the Yellow Brick Road, just before they meet the nasty apple trees...Margaret writes, "If you can hear what they're saying - tell me!  Witchiest wishes  WWW and MH - (Wicked Witch of the West and Margaret Hamilton)". It is uncommon to find her character name written in full, as Margaret would frequently shorten it to WWW. Ray Bolger writes in response, "Dorothy is saying what beautiful apples.  The Scarecrow says - I'll get you some!  Ray Bolger" a scene with Bolger, Haley, Garland, Bert Lahr and Frank Morgan in Emerald City, as the balloon is prepared for lift-off...Jack Haley makes an amusing comment about MGM's contract players, "The actors at M.G.M. created the hot air for this baloon (sic)  Jack Haley".  Ray Bolger sticks to the script, "The Wizard is off!  The Scarecrow is now important!  All the best  Ray Bolger" All the photos have been reproduced as high quality 8x10 glossies, and are virtually indistinguishable from the originals. The snapshots of me with the Oz cast are not included in the auction.
