Description If you've read Ol' Waylon's autobiography or any of Willie Nelson's books, you know the story: Willie talked Waylon into coming down to play Austin hippie ballroom the Armadillo World Headquarters in the early '70s, after Willie began seeing the lines between 'heads and rednecks blurring at his own appearances there. Waylon, still a greaser at heart (despite having recently grown a beard), looked out at the longhairs in the house and yelled at Willie: "What the hell have you gotten me into?!" Willie calmly advised him not to jump to conclusions and just go and play. Waylon went down a storm, and thus went a key moment in the development of the cosmic cowboy movement. Now you can have a momento of the occasion: The original poster, drawn by Rick Turner and Clark Bradley, advising clientele there to see "Mr. Jennings singing and playing his guitar for your pleasure and entertainment" to "please leave your guns with the usher!"
