This is a rare advertising handbill (flyer) promoting ticket sales for the three-week, Pre-Broadway engagement of the STEPHEN SONDHEIM and ARTHUR LAURENTS musical comedy "ANYONE CAN WHISTLE" at the Forrest Theatre in Philadelphia beginning March 2nd, 1964. (The production would open April 4th, 1964 at New York's Majestic Theatre and close after only nine performances.) ..... Described as "A Wild Musical", the show starred ANGELA LANSBURY, LEE REMICK and HARRY GUARDINO (all three in their musical theatre debuts) and featured HENRY LASCOE (who suffered a heart attack in Philadelphia and was replaced by GABRIEL DELL), ARNOLD SOBOLOFF and JAMES FRAWLEY .....
