It was created for use in a theatre to promote the engagement of this Motion Picture in 1977! ******************************************* This approx. 40 x 60" Movie Item: SUSPIRIA ~ U.S. 40 x 60" NSS# 77/133 ~ INTERNATIONAL CLASSICS, INC. ~ 1977 This strikingly creepy, RARE-SIZE poster from the Cult-Favorite DARIO ARGENTO Horror classic is in Very Good / Excellent condition. It has always been ROLLED - never folded. There are staple holes at all 4 corners (some in black area) and at the top and bottom center edges ; an approx. 10" vertical stain at the extreme edge of the top left (white) border ; a thin, approx. 2" vertical stain at the top center (white) border which may go slightly into the black area, but isn't visible ; several light horizontal and vertical surface creases and a light star crease at top black area, below the writing ; two razor-thin horizontal surface scratches, approx. 8" and 4" in the top black area above the writing. The Italian film is from a small, independent US distributor, so it's pretty rare as quantities produced were much lower than normal, big-studio releases. The poster's terrific design show's the blue-lit bottom half of a screaming woman's face. Across the blackened upper face is the fantastic, slimy / organic-looking stylized title-logo, which seems to pulsate in fleshy pink and red colors, with visible veins. Also unusual is the poster's complete absence of production / star credits which makes the images all the more striking. The poster includes the original, semantically-incorrect, catchline - whose math was altered on later posters from "92" minutes to "80" (or sometimes, incorrectly again, to "83!") - as the film's actual running time was 92 minutes total, not 104 as this poster suggests. The film stars JESSICA HARPER , JOAN BENNETT , STEFANIA CASINI , ALIDA VALLI , FLAVIO BUCCI and UDO KIER .
