Description The Broadway-bound production "Durante" was a musical based on the life of legendary performer Jimmy Durante.   It was written by Frank Peppiatt and John Aylesworth, and opened at Toronto's Bluma Appel Theatre in August, 1989.  It later played in Vancouver, San Francisco and Los Angeles.  Its run was cut short by the San Francisco earthquake in October of 1989. We acquired a prop from "Durante" from a cast member - a man's black umbrella adorned with "raindrops."  Details are as follows: - manufactured by Atlas Umbrella Manufacturers of Toronto; - 65% polyester and 35% cotton - wooden handle, tube and tips - metal cap and ferrule on top (possibly tin?) - opens and closes manually - approximately 35" long and 39" in diameter when open - droplets of a substance were added to the umbrella to create the illusion that it was wet on stage Place a Bid!
