Description
First off: this is not an official Valve product for their video game Portal. I am in no way affiliated with the game or the developers. I'm just a fan that had the opportunity to make some neat key-chains because I really liked the game.Up for sale is my "companion keychain" based on the Weighted Companion Cube in Portal. It's made from .100" thick reclaimed aluminum and cut with an industrial laser. It measures 1.25" x 1.25" (about 3cm x 3cm). The surface has a smooth brushed finish that will wear over time. I like the effect of the bare metal, but you can paint it if you want or something. It is attached to a clip style key holder with a flexible metal cord. End to end it's almost 4". Perfect size for house, car, lab, dorm, or locker keys. Do I honestly need to explain a keychain here? Look at it, it's self explanatory. And it's awesome. You know you want it.Back when I first made this keychain I put a picture of it on flickr. Someone put that on Digg and in a few days it hit the main page. It stayed there for several hours, and generated over 65,000 views and over a hundred comments. The story has been dugg 1441 times last time I checked. I honestly didn't expect that kind of response, so I decided to make a few more... and this is one of the few remaining. The auction I initially posted got several hundred views in the three days it was open and nearly 20 bids... so I'm setting the price on these at the closing bid because I don't think it would be fair to the winner to offer it to others for less after they paid. I have a couple more available that are identical to the one pictured below. The buy it now price is for one of them.My friends and I have been offered quite a bit for these already from a lot of different people, the highest I've heard was someone in a Gamestop offering a friend over $100 for his and he didn't sell it. Yes, it's just a keychain, but it immortalizes one of the greatest games of all time and can instantly brighten any true geek's day. It's also a lot more rare than the plush toys from the Valve store. And it fits in your pocket. Could you ask for more? You may never get another chance at this!*Symptoms most commonly produced by this keychain are superstition, perceiving inanimate objects as alive, and hallucinations. I would like to remind you that this keychain will never threaten to stab you, and in fact can not speak. In the event that keychain does speak, I urge you to disregard its advice. Please note that any appearance of danger is merely a device to enhance your experience. I apologize for the inconvenience and wish you the best of luck. Thank you for helping us help you help us all. ;)** That last bit was a lie. Like the cake. It's just a keychain, it won't cause any hallucinations or anything like that. Mine hasn't at least... can't say the same for my friends though. It is not intended for human consumption nor is it to be used as a marital aid. Don't ask. That may or may not just be a joke. Thanks for the interest!
