Honorable Wu Revue Chinese Vaudeville Troupe PHOTOS 20s Start Price USD 249.99 Current Price USD 249.99 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Wednesday, October 08, 2008 End Time Wednesday, October 15, 2008 Location San Francisco, California See more about 'Honorable Wu Revue Chinese Vaudeville Troupe PHOTOS 20s' Description Beaautiful lot of 4 original 11 by 14 inch promotional photographs of a Chinese vaudeville theatrical troupe known as  the Honorable Wu Revue (apparently also known as Chinese Nights Revue, Chinese Showboat Revue, or Chinese Whoopee Revue).  Three of the four were taken by the Herbert Mitchell Studio in New York City.   Honorable Wu (Harry Gee Haw, 1896 - 1945) was a musician, performer and film actor (between 1936 - 1941) of the day.  These photos date from around the 1920's, one has the date 1927 written in pencil on the back.  Other notations include an address for Harry Rogers in NYC on the back of one.  He was probably a manager or promoter.  Another is stamped Photograph and Press Bureau Paramount Vaudeville Exchange in NYC.   Another is stamped by the Press Dept. William Morris Agency.  Beautifully detailed photos of the performers in full costume.  Condition is generally fair to good.  One has a chip missing from one corner as shown in the photos.  Others have some stains, creases, pinholes or small edge tears and wear.   Three have tape or residue on the back.  Otherwise quite presentable with nice detail.  It is unusual to find such large photos from this era, and of this type of ethnic performance troupe.  All for form one bid.  From the estate of an Chinese American family in the San Francisco Bay Area.   Winners are always welcome to pick up their items at our store in San Francisco.                 Powered by eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool.
