Description
Framed Matted Poster Andy Warhol's Velvet Underground The Trauma Club - Philadelphia, PA 1967 Performers: The Velvet Underground The Muffins Venue: The Trauma Philadelphia, PA Date: Wed.-Sat., July 19-22, 1967 Wed.-Sat., July 26-29, 1967 These series of shows shows took place shortly after the release of the Velvet Undergrounds first album, "The Velvet Underground and Nico". The album was recorded in a single day. At Andy Warhol's insistence Nico sang on three songs. The band's sets at the time included "Heroin", Waiting For The Man", "Venus In Furs" and "Run, Run, Run" all from the album. Warhol had adopted the band as one of his projects "producing" their first album as well as providing the album art. His actual participation in the album's production amounted to simply paying for the studio time. After the first album, Warhol and band leader Lou Reed started to disagree more about the direction the band should take, and the contact between them faded. NOTE: The album cover was famous for its Warhol design: a bright yellow banana with "Peel Slowly and See" printed near a perforated tab. Those who did remove the banana skin found a pink, peeled banana beneath. "The Velvet Underground & Nico" 1967. Description This beautiful, high quality, matted and framed print is not an original.
