This item is a Near Mint (without flaws) condition 1968 postcard by the Father of Psychedelic Poster, Wes Wilson for a Family Dog Show at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco. Bands playing that night were Velvet Underground , Charley Musselwhite (Blues Harp) and Initial Shock. How's that for a nice variety!I just heard Charley Musselwhite here in Tucson and he's still blowin' great Blues! He play with Mavis Staples & the Mississippi Blues All-Stars! The FD-141 Shows took place from 10/18-20/68. This postcard is known in Eric King's book as FD-141-OPC-A and is a first printing.These postcards were NEVER reprinted. It is titled "Velvet Underground" and features the photography of Bellmer Wright. It is a Classic Wilson image and is extremely poplular to this day. These black & white images were produced in the final sixth months of the Avalon Ballroom's run. Chet was running low on funds and it was a cost saving measure. This one is in Near Mint (Without Flaws) condition. These cards are becoming extinct and will increase greatly in value in the near future. The Family Dog didn't produced the amount of postcards that some of the larger, more successful venues in San Francisco did(like the Fillmore)!
