Description
New Arrivals All Auctions Rare Book Auctions Original Poster Auctions Title: Death Wish [Original Screenplay]. Author: MAYES, Wendell. Studio: Paramount Script Dated: December 20, 1972 Edition: First edition An original screenplay by Wendell Mayes, based on the 1972 novel of the same name written by Brian Garfield. Dated December 20, 1972 on the title page. Pages numbered [1]-125 are all white, measure 8.5" x 11" in size and are bound with metal pins in brown, heavy stock paper covers with the production company (Landers-Roberts) logo stamped in gold on the front. Released by Paramount Pictures in 1974, "Death Wish" was directed by Michael Winner and produced by Hal Landers and Bobby Roberts. It starred Charles Bronson, in his defining role, Hope Lange and Vincent Gardenia. The film tells the story of Paul Kersey (Bronson), a New York architect, whose world is suddenly torn apart by the murder of his wife and rape of his daughter, launching him on a one-man vigilante mission. A landmark in crime films which pushed the envelope in terms of dealing with the realistic problem of revenge for criminal acts and the boundaries of dealing with it. In very nice condition overall, with just a touch of use. No handwritten marks or notes, other than names "Hal" and "Bobby" written in pencil over the respective last names on the title page, along with a handwritten phone number pencilled in next to Bobby's name.
