Description
DESCRIPTION:  Original 11" x 14" lobby card for the 1943 feature version of the classic Republic Pictutures' cliffhanger, DRUMS OF FU MANCHU, starring Henry Brandon, William Royle and Robert Kellard. It was common practice among serial studios to offer their more popular chapterplays in feature-length versions -- usally running slighty over an hour -- to theatres that didn't routinely play cliffhangers. Separate posters and lobby cards were designed for the feature release and, quite often, since there was only a single one-sheet and lobby card set issued, are more scarce than the serial release, which, usually, had one-sheets and lobby card sets for each individual chapter. Republic Pictures issued individual lobby card sets for each episode of their serials, but only the chapter one chapter lobby cards were printed in full color. The remaining cards were issued in varying duotone hues. This exceptional card features on eof the best scenes from the serial with Fu Manchu (Henry Brandon), Fah Lo Suee (Gloria Franklin) and two dacoits. Since this scene did not take place until Chapter 14, it is not picturted in the original Chapter 1 color set. An outstanding addition to any serial collection!!  CONDITION: Solid FINE+/VERY FIN condition with light/moderate border edge and corner wear; two tiny pinholes in the top border corners. No tears or tape.   SHIPPING AND PAYMENT: U.S. bidders add $8.00 to cover shipping and handling.
