Description  Bobby’s New Edition Award from Whitney’s Storage Unit Sale   This is Bobby Brown’s 1984 American music industry Gold Award for 500,000 sales of the album ‘New Edition’.  It was originally sold as part of a lot in Whitney’s infamous storage unit auction in January 2007.  The award measures 20x16 inches (51x40cms) and is very good condition.  Originally the frame was looking very worn, so I had it stripped down and professionally repainted.  There’s a few minor scratches on the plexiglass, but nothing noticeable once it’s hanging on the wall.  The plaque mounted on the award reads:   PRESENTED TO BOBBY BROWN TO COMMEMORATE THE SALE OF MORE THAN 500,000 COPIES OF THE MCA Records LONG PLAYING ALBUM NEW EDITION   This award was produced in Burbank, California by Dejay Products, an official RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) award manufacturer.  This style of award was made by the company for a number of US record labels, prior to them getting authorization to produce RIAA awards in the mid 1980s.  These awards were only presented within the music industry, and should not be confused with any kind of replica or ‘limited edition’ that is sold direct to the public.      A unique piece of 1980s music memorabilia.    Please see my other items for more rare awards from the music industry including a Whitney Houston Award, as well as other BPI & RIAA Awards.   Shipping Info   The item can be collected, or shipped at the following cost (including insurance):   £12 - UK £25 - EU £35 - Rest of Europe £37 - USA/Canada £47 - Rest of the world   Payment Info   Payment can be made by cheque/bankers draft in UK Pounds.  Paypal is also accepted, however, if you have an unconfirmed address, then you will need to contact me before placing your bid.  Cash can be accepted, but only if the item is personally collected.   Payment should be received within 10 days of the auction end.  The item will then be shipped within 5 days of receiving payment.    If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me before placing your bid.  Thanks!
