The 1967 Festival featured Arlo Guthrie on the occasion when he premiered his hit "Alice's Restaurant", The Staples Singers, Jim Kweskin and the Jug Band, Joan Baez, and many others. At one time or other, John Coltrane, Billie Holiday, Thelonious Monk, Bob Dylan, even Led Zeppelin, etc. all played the Newport Festivals during their heydays. This music poster has an easel back on the reverse and is scored on the right and left sides because it was made to stand on the counters of local record shops. It is printed on heavy cardboard in three inks: black, khaki, and Day-Glo orange (which is much brighter than appears in the photo). The poster is clean and solid with some minor nicks and scratches around the edges (see photo).
