Description
1963 Fender Stratocaster sunburst rosewood 100% original   You are looking at a 100% original 1963 Fender Stratocaster in 3-tone sunburst with rosewood neck; this is a very early L series (L002XX). Other than a fret stone, the guitar has had no work done at all. As the photographs testify, there is little or no wear, a couple of dings and some moderate patina on the body face. The original tremolo arm and bridge cover are still here as is the original Selmer case it was supplied in. The machine heads are in excellent condition, the neck is straight and true (no warping) and the scratch plate has assimilated the grey/green hue with no cracks esp. top screw. The tremolo works fine as do all the adjustments available to the bridge saddles. The guitar’s sound is pure “strat” producing a really mellow tone and a beautiful out-of-phase sound when the pick-up selector switch is balanced.   The guitar has never been gigged and indeed very rarely has it seen the light of day in the past 20 years, having been stored in a smoke-free environment.   I have bought and sold a number of high end guitars with buyers and sellers all over the world and have 100% feedback- bid with confidence.   Rules and Regulations   Payment to be by PayPal (from a registered address only) or bank transfer only although I will accept a personal cheque drawn from a U.K. bank account.   Payment is to be made within 10 days of the auction close.   The guitar will be available for collection or shipping at your cost and your risk (insurance of the full value is required) when cleared funds have been received in my bank.   The guitar is not be available on approval.   This is a guitar for the serious investor and serious bidder only. Please DO NOT bid if you have no intention of making the transaction. I would recommend that a personal collection is made by the successful bidder (I will require ID).   Naturally if you have any questions please contact me.      On 03-Jul-08 at 22:33:01 BST, seller added the following information:For all pre-CBS number and code freaks, the tuners are D-169 400. Tone pots are 70-2125-0033 / 304-6306. Volume pot is 70-2125-0035 / 302-6306. I think I was the first to remove the scratch plate - all screws carefully relocated in the same places. Removing the trem cover the body date is 4/63. I will post additional pictures tomorrow Friday when I can get a broadband connection however to re-iterate this guitar is as is when it left Fullerton in '63 - nothing added and nothing taken away. Please send any additional questions. On 05-Jul-08 at 15:42:39 BST, seller added the following information:Hi all you underguard guys and gals. Unfortunately ebay will not allow me anymore pictures or indeed allow me to take any out because I have bids on the axe. If you are desperate to see the underside of the guard and the trem cavity please send me your email address and I will send you the pics I have back by return - sorry for the hassle.
