Description Up for auction, and from a friend’s personal collection, is a vintage, old, original 1947 BODY AND SOUL (starring John Garfield and Lilli Palmer) one-sheet theatre poster. I have been told that many consider this film the first great boxing movie and a precursor to Sylvester Stallone's Rocky. The poster was placed loosely in its frame against the glass with cardboard rather than acid-free backing to hold it in. The flaws and repairs are most noticeable from the back, with shallow creases throughout the piece and prominent ones from storage and slight paper loss where the creases meet.    This poster is striking, and its minor flaws (I feel) do not detract from its appeal.   Buyer pays actual cost of shipping/packaging, and—for safety’s sake—the poster will be folded and shipped between cardboard alongside the frame (in case the glass breaks in transit) unless the winner requests otherwise.   SORRY, I NO LONGER ACCEPT PAYPAL, but I do accept personal checks (which must clear before shipping) and money orders.
