Description
1940's to 50's Musician/Entertainer Autograph Collection Collection of Autographs of Musicians/Entertainers of the 1940's and 50's era.  These and many other Autographs were acquired from an estate.  If you deal in or collect Autographs please be sure to check back as I'll be listing some others over time.  The family of the gentleman of who these belonged to were owners of a well-established Hotel in a West Virginia town for many years.  I was told some Autographs were attained personally himself but that he often wrote to various celebrites of his era and prior. They would send him their autograph back and in some cases include a memo.  Anyhow, with the history behind these I believe the Autographs to be legitimate but it costs to much to have them authenticated so I'm listing them "as is".  Autographs include the following: Mills Brothers--Harry, Donald, Herbert and John Sr.  Major African-American Jazz & Pop Vocal Quartet.  2,000 Recordings; Sold over 50 million copies.   June Christy--Jazz Singer during the 1950's.   Spike Jones--Muscian/Bandleader performing satirical arrangements of popular songs.   Eddy Duchin--Pianist/Bandleader of the 1930's to 40's.   Mindy Carson--Traditional Pop Singer of the 1940's to 50's.   Geoff Williams--Jazz Drummer who worked with Stan Getz & Others   Ray Wetzel--Jazz Trumpter, Lead Trumpet for Woody Herman & Stan Kenton during the 1940's.   Ray Anthony--Bandleader, Trumpeter, Songwriter, Actor.  Played in Glenn Miller Band in early 40's.  Formed is own Orchestra popular during the early 50's.   Cab Calloway--Jazz Singer/Bandleader of the 1930's to 40's.   Guy Mitchell--Croatian-American Pop Singer.  Also Popular in U.K. and Australia.   Dinah Shore Montgomery--Singer/Actress/TV Personality.  Popular during the Big Band Era of the 1940's to 50's.   Billy May--Composer, Arranger and Musician.   Ted Weems--U.S. Bandleader & Musician.   Jo Stafford--Singer of Traditional Pop Music & Jazz Standards during the late 30's to early 60's.   Billy Rose--Impresario, Theatrical Showman, Lyricist.  Most notable song "Me & My Shadow"   Dorothy Dandridge--Actress/Popular Singer.  1st African-American to be named for Academy-Award--Best Actress.   Peggy Lee--Jazz/Popular Singer & Songwriter.  Academy-Award nominated Actress.   Frances Langsford--Singer/Songwriter popular during the Golden Age of Radio.  Also made many film appearances. Autographs are on various sizes of pieces of paper with exception to the Postmarked 1940 Postcard of Geoff Williams.  All appear to be in very good condition.  Great to add to any Musician or Entertainer collection.  Buyer to pay $5 for shipping & insurance within the U.S.
